Day 92: Koh Samui > Koh Tao
Claire: Today we moved onto Koh Tao, a small island north of Koh Samui. The ferry was so overbooked they'd put on an extra one but as it turned out most passengers were heading to Koh Phangan (the party island) which was the stop before Koh Tao.
We were met at the ferry port and our hotel's driver flung our rucksacks and us into the back of his pick up truck and we were on a very scenic mountainous drive to our hotel. Albeit only 3 miles or so from the town, I'm not sure we'll be making that journey on foot anytime soon. Our hotel is rather remote but the views are spectacular. We can see the sea from our balcony!
Our nearest beach is Tanote Bay. There's a little wooden bridge path that goes through the forest from our hotel right to the sand.
On our journey to the hotel we realised there's really not much else around here so we've decided to eat in the hotel restaurant tonight. I'm not sure we'll be risking those mountainous roads in pitch black! Scooter tomorrow we think.
