Day 85: Koh Lipe breakfasts
Claire: Accommodation on Thai islands is seeming to be much more expensive than anywhere else we’ve been. To put it in perspective we’ve been paying anywhere from £15-45 a night on our travels, ranging from bamboo huts to boutique hotels. Our average nighty spend on day 85 stands at £39 which is pretty damn good. So when we’re forced to pay £71 a night for an average hotel in Koh Lipe we can’t help but feel a bit cheated when the breakfast is so shite. So this morning we returned to Bloom cafe, who saved the day with a delicious healthy brunch. Alas, they still couldn’t serve coffee though! Their maintenance guy must be on Thai-time.
The rest of our day was sun, sea, sand, walking, swimming, exploring and eating. Nothing much to report bar the breakfast rant! I think I'm over it now.
Gav's day 85 takeaway
- I think what Claire's trying to say is that breakfasts have become an important part our daily routine. With a day of exertion and the possible unknowns ahead, it's important to fuel up. She says she's over it, but I'm not so sure?
- And despite having been together for nearly 8 years, I've discovered a new found understanding of just how much she needs a good coffee in the morning.
