Hello!

This is our little diary of a our 99 days travelling South East Asia.

Day 62: Apsara in Phnom Penh

Day 62: Apsara in Phnom Penh

Claire: After a fair few days immersing ourselves into history we spent this afternoon doing pretty much nothing... bar sunbathe! We checked into a new hotel, Balconitel, which is a really relaxing place with a rooftop pool for excellent views over the city,

Our evening was a bit more cultural as we spontaneously bought tickets for a traditional Khmer dance show! We'd seen a bit of Apsara dancing back in Kampot but this show by Cambodian Living Arts (a not-for-profit organisation supporting young people!) was a full performance set in the beautiful grounds of the National Museum. The show was so vibrant with fantastic costumes and an amazing live soundtrack. Such a diverse range of styles, costumes and music!

After the show we had dinner at Friends, a colourful training restaurant which works to build the futures of former street children.
